Complete Description
Responsibilities: Cost management, human resource management, clinical management, and value management for assigned departments. Ensures quality patient care is provided, develops budget in partnership with Laboratory Director, and operates assigned areas within budget. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is required. A Master of Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred. Must be registered as a Medical Technologist by the ASCP or an equivalent organization. Five (5) years of professional work experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an acute care hospital setting, is required. Two (2) of the five (5) year requirement must include supervisory duties. (Prefer 4-5 years of recent laboratory hospital managerial experience in a 450 + bed/high-volume hospital). Thorough knowledge of all current accreditation standards for laboratories, and federal reimbursement related issues. Demonstrates leadership and the ability to communicate effectively. Commitment to serve as part of a collaborative laboratory management team focused on promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of Piedmont Medical Care Center and the laboratory.
