Complete Description

Currently accepting qualified Medical Assistant applicants to be considered for future openings at the Cardiac Practices of the Piedmont Heart Institute.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and preferably two years previous experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient clinic; or completion of a Nursing Assistant program and three years previous experience as a patient care assistant, preferably a primary care setting; or High School diploma or general education (GED) and four years primary care experience. Some applicants may be required to possess a radiological safety certificate.

Preference may be given to candidates who possess a Medical Assistant Certification from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES); or a similarly recognized certifying organization. As a condition of employment, candidates must become certified within the first 90 days of employment.

Applicants must obtain a basic Cardiac Life Support Certification within the first 3 months of employment and possess average data entry skills.

COMPUTER APPLICATION SKILLS: Previous exposure to electronic patient management systems with a working knowledge of NextGen EPM & EMR and WINDOWS 2000 XP.
