RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performing all technical procedures pertinent to the section; supervising plans, organizing and delegating duties and responsibilities of personnel in the section under the direction of and in cooperation with the Medical Director of the laboratory, the pathologists, and the Directors of the laboratory. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree, including one year of supervised clinical experience in an approved clinical laboratory resulting in certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent organization. (SBB strongly preferred. 5 years of Blood Bank Supervisory experience with solid history in bone marrow/special coagulation procedures is preferred). In addition, must provide overall direction of the section, have in-depth experience with human resource/staff development issues, and use independent judgment; possesses excellent interpersonal and communication/computer skills, work well with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
